This Privacy Policy explains how The Intelligence Edge Research (“TIER”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you visit theintelledge.com, create an account, or subscribe to our newsletter. We keep this simple: we collect only what we need to run the service, we never sell your data, and you stay in control.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
When you create a free reader account, we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile photo as provided by Google. We never see or store your Google password.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address so we can send you our research.
Saved articles & preferences
If you save articles or set preferences (such as light/dark mode), we store these so your experience carries across visits.
Information collected automatically
Like nearly all websites, our hosting and security providers automatically log basic technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type and the pages you view. This is used to keep the site secure, reliable and fast.
Security & anti-bot checks
We use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell humans apart from bots when you submit a form. This is a privacy-friendly check that does not track you across the web.
2. Cookies & Analytics
We use a small number of essential cookies only — for example, to keep you signed in to your account. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
For visitor statistics we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-first and cookieless. It gives us aggregate numbers (such as how many people read an article) without building a profile of you or tracking you across other sites. Because it sets no cookies, no consent banner is required.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and saved articles.
- To send you the newsletter and research you signed up for.
- To keep the site secure and prevent abuse and fraud.
- To understand, in aggregate, what content readers find useful.
- To respond to your messages and support requests.
- To comply with our legal obligations.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the trusted service providers that help us operate, and only as needed:
- Supabase — secure database and account authentication.
- Beehiiv — newsletter delivery.
- Cloudflare — security, content delivery, Turnstile and cookieless analytics.
- Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Hostinger — website hosting.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of TIER and our readers.
5. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account or subscription is active, and only as long as needed for the purposes described here or to meet legal requirements. If you delete your account or unsubscribe, we remove or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain uses, and to withdraw consent. You can:
- Update or delete your account at any time from your account settings.
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email.
- Contact us to exercise any of your rights — see below.
7. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures — including encryption in transit (HTTPS), authentication safeguards and reputable infrastructure providers — to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is ever completely secure, but we work to protect your information and review our practices regularly.
8. International Data Transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where this happens, we rely on providers that apply appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
9. Children’s Privacy
TIER is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be communicated where appropriate.
